An Elegant Elopement at The Estate, New Haven

Updated: Feb 13

I'm delighted to share this sweet styled shoot of an elegant elopement that recently took place at the newest Connecticut wedding venue, The Estate in New Haven. This historic gem has a story that spans over two centuries, and we had the privilege of capturing its timeless beauty in a celebration of love and style.

Get to know Connecticut's Newest Wedding Venue:

In 1804, the Townshend family built a manor house on their sprawling farmlands in New Haven, Connecticut. Fast forward to today, and The Estate still stands and welcomes all who step through its doors to celebrate their own love stories.

What sets The Estate apart is its stunning Gothic Revival architecture, which had the art history geek in me on air. The intricate details of this architectural masterpiece include pointed arches on every window and exquisite ornate details - The grand staircase's banister with engraved acorns is breathtaking!

Details That Dazzle

For our styled shoot, Two Printing Girls (who are so much fun!) provided the wedding invitation suite,

signage, and an adorable wedding newspaper, setting the tone for the day. The beautiful bride, none other than The Estate owner's daughter, graced the scene in a bridal gown by Rent the Dress CT and cathedral veil by Lastrina Salons. The overall color palette of pale grey, pastel navy, and light green created an atmosphere of sheer elegance making the cloud and fog of late January feel timeless and romantic.

Shelley led a sweet mini ceremony while I performed wedding ceremony music in a deep navy velvet gown from David's Bridal, perfectly complementing the styled shoot's color scheme. The Cocktail Witch wove her magic, concocting drinks that were as beautiful as they were delicious.

Enchanted Blooms provided eco-friendly reusable silk florals, while JT Ghamo and Bard Clothing partnered to create a dapper look for the groom's tuxedo. Blush and Brush CT gave us the most perfect soft glam look (You'd never know I was getting over a horrible cold from how she brightened up my eyes!) The icing on the cake (and us!) was partnering with Libero Jewelers, a family-owned treasure in North Haven, who adorned the bride and I with sapphires and diamonds, making us feel like royalty.

A special shoutout to Catherine and Oscar for including music in their vision of the styled wedding shoot – a rare and appreciated addition that truly made the experience priceless.

This style shoot reminds me of what I love about the wedding world – it's the support and collaboration within this incredible community.

A special shoutout goes to Meghan of MC Hair Styles and Catherine & Oscar of Cortes Productions, the creative masterminds behind this styled shoot. This collaboration is a shining example of what the wedding industry is all about – coming together, supporting one another, and introducing the world to breathtaking venues like The Estate.

Now, let's take a moment to WOW at this styled wedding shoot. From the Gothic Revival architecture to the dazzling jewels (did you see the rock they gave me?!), every detail came together seamlessly. This, my friends, is the fun of the wedding world, and I'm absolutely here for it!
